Base L2 Unveils Beryl Update with B20 Standard

The Base layer-2 solution team revealed the Beryl upgrade plan, introducing the B20 standard. Testnet deployment is live, with mainnet activation set for June 25.

The team behind the Base L2 solution has announced the Beryl upgrade plan. The primary feature is the new B20 standard, which has already been launched on the testnet. A mainnet activation is scheduled for June 25.

Unlike conventional smart contracts, B20's logic is embedded directly into node software. This design is intended to enable faster and cheaper token creation and transactions.
