Standard Chartered economists Jonathan Koh and Edward Lee have updated their outlook for the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). They now drop the expectation of a 50-basis-point off-cycle rate hike ahead of the June 18 policy meeting.
Despite this revision, the economists still view the central bank as remaining hawkish due to persistent inflation pressures. The adjustment signals a slightly less aggressive tightening path but does not alter the overall tight monetary stance.
