Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has effectively abandoned its $1 billion factory project in Manisa, Turkey, nearly two years after the high-profile signing ceremony. According to BYD executive Stella Li, there is currently no timeline for construction, and the company is now prioritizing its factory in Hungary.

The development marks a significant shift in BYD's European expansion strategy, as the company had originally planned to use the Turkish facility as a production hub for the region. The Hungarian plant is now the primary focus, though no specific timeline for that project was provided.
